Yom Kippur Services

September 21 @ 1:00 pm

High Holidays 2026

We are pleased to present our 2026 Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services in person to our members, their families and guests. New this year, non-members may join us for our in-person services if they pre-register. (Registration instructions are set forth below.) We will also be live streaming the services to members and non-members who wish to join us virtually. Our services are free of charge, but we kindly ask non-members joining us to please consider donating to help offset our production costs.

CHJ celebrates Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur with contemplative services incorporating music, readings, and rituals that strike a balance between our connections to the broad stream of Judaism and our secular humanistic view of Jewish culture and customs. Our services invite us to reflect on our values and commitments, both as individuals and as a community.

On Yom Kippur Day, we offer a Members’ Workshop and a Members’ Meditation, both to be held on Zoom.

Members’ Workshop via Zoom @ 1pm:

Topic: “A Humanistic Perspective on Atonement/At-one-ment on Yom Kippur”

Meditation via Zoom @ 2:30 pm

Memorial/Closing Service @ 5:00 pm

Members should refer to the CHJ website and email announcements for the locations of the various services and events. Doors open 30 minutes before services begin. The live stream services will commence at the times listed below.

Non-Member Registration – In Person and/or Live Streaming

Use CHJ’s website  High Holiday Registration page to begin the registration process.

Non-members who wish to attend our services in person should register on CHJ’s website in advance, no later than 7 days prior to the service(s) they wish to attend. In-person registrants will receive a phone call from a congregant to complete the process. The location of the service and an admission ticket will be emailed to them after the phone call.

Non-members who wish to view our services virtually are asked to also please register in advance from the same High Holiday Registration page.  A link to the live-stream service(s) will be sent to those who register. The service booklet can also be found on this same web page and can be downloaded to your device.

Guests interested in learning about CHJ membership or wishing to join CHJ should go to our website at humanisticjews.org. Kindly address inquiries to membership@humanisticjews.org.
