Brit Shalom
From time to time, the Congregation holds a Brit Shalom -- a traditional Jewish ceremony in which babies and children are given Hebrew names. Brit Shalom means covenant of welcome and recreates the covenant between God and Abraham in the Torah. In our ceremony, the covenant is an exchange of promises between parents, children and the congregation, and is usually a beautiful, emotional and meaningful occasion for all who attend. |
