Jewish Identity

Sunday morning adult education takes place whenever Sunday school meets at Bedford Middle School, 88 North Avenue, Westport. These sessions always bring together a lively group of congregants ready for learning and great conversation, along with bagels and coffee.  For the most up-to-date scheduled events, see the current newsletter or check the newsletter on the website. The general schedule is:

 9:15-12:00 Coffee and bagels
   9:15-10:00 Committee meetings (as needed)  
   9:30-9:45   Music with the Sunday School (all congregants encouraged to attend)
   10:00-11:45-  Program

SEPT 27 "How a Humanist May Find Meaning in the Days of Awe"

OCT 4        Sukkot celebration at Dreyfus/Moon home. Lunch.

OCT 18   Men and Women's Rap.  Topic: "Jewish and Humanistic Role Models. Do You Have One? Are You One?"

OCT 25   Short Story reading/discussion with Susan Boyar.

NOV 1  Board Meeting at Bedford MS

NOV 15 Film "Forgotten Refugees" (which includes the secret airlift of 25,000 Ethiopian Jews to Israel), and discussion - presented by Gloria Moldow.

NOV 22  The Spin on Spinoza - Presented by David Shafer.

DEC 6        Shop for holiday presents at expanded Fair Trade Gift Bazaar.

DEC 13   Children's Hannukah party

JAN 10 Board Meeting at Bedford MS

JAN 24  Ladino Music - Presented by Dorothy Grimm.

JAN 31  Tu B'shvat

FEB 7  Mitch Kalmus will present a science related topic

FEB 28     Reading/discussion: Half The Sky by Nicholas Kristof & Sheryl WuDunn with Gail Ostrow

MAR 7  Board Meeting at Bedford MS

MAR 21  Debbie Shafer will do an art related presentation

MAR 28  Children's  Model Seder

APR 25  Susan Boyar will lead a short story discussion. The author, Elso Nad will be there to talk to us.

MAY 2  Wrap-up Men’s and Women’s rap.

MAY 16  Children's      Graduation (or Snow day makeup)

MAY 23  Graduation if May 16 needed for Snow day makeup.
