Programming
This active bunch took time out from decorating the Sukkot hut for a photo-op. Through a combination of brainstorming, inspiration and well-placed phone calls, our Congregation puts together a year-round program of thought-provoking activities and events. These include holiday celebrations, bi-monthly Friday evening programs, and a monthly Adult Education program. Much of the programming is developed around a theme chosen each year by the Board of Directors. Previous themes have included Jewish humor, the Diaspora and Jewish values. Programs have included speakers, films, discussion groups, musicians, and trips. The job of programming is undertaken by three "Trimester" committees. The first Trimester group plans fall events, the second takes on winter, and the third organizes spring. All Congregation members are encouraged to join one trimester group. A separate committee plans the High Holidays, which are usually held in Westport schools. |
